In reflecting on the work that we did in class yesterday
I woke up this morning thinking about one of my favourtie musicians
Jack Johnson and I began singing this song to myself
I share a lot of his music with my students in my class
and his words support
UDL principals.
Make sure that everyone has opportunities to engage, learn, and have fun
so that they can discover what it is that they want to do
and become whom ever they want to be!
AT provides endless opportunities for everyone.
Yesterday we explored a range of Apps that ensure inclusion for all.
The Apps are there..
waiting for us to download them
and practise using them.
Which brings me to a certain level of frustration.
The technology is out there but it's not available for everyone.
How long are we going to have to wait until we can put these devices into our children's hands so that they can start practising
and start discovering
and doing what they want to do?
GarageBand, Book Creator, IMovie, Symbol Support, Clicker Sentences, iReadWrite, Pages, Keynote, Explain Everything
All incredible resources for our students.
Let's make it happen!
Children and learning through interactive play, sharing, communicating through music! I was playing around with the Garage Band app this weekend and became hooked! If we think about students that share a love for learning through music, art, sensory, movement (thinking along the lines of Gardner's Theories of Intelligence), these apps can work for so many of our students! The apps that are available for students to work with and demonstrate their passion and love for learning in different areas other than the traditional reading, writing and math curriculum is so very important! We really need to celebrate the endless possibilities that are available to students everywhere! Loved the video :)
