In thinking about multi-age classes in small rural schools in Nova Scotia
and the power of AT
I remembered this talk
I know it's quite long but worth the watch/listen to perhaps over a nice cup of tea
Definitely something to think about.
Project based learning
Grouping students into multi-age groups
.....
interesting
Hi Angela! Thanks for a great presentation yesterday! My "A-Ha" moment came from something you stated during your presentation, and that was the point you made about being a carpenter and having no tools, or only being provided with one hammer but NOT the specific hammer you needed to get the job done?? This pulls together all the points that this course instilled, UDL principle, assistive technology for all, and providing those tools that are necessary to get the job done, but individualized or should I say, "customized" for each individual in order to allow them the independence in learning, sharing, and getting the job done based on their specific job and what they are trying to accomplish??? It's like trying to fit the peg into the wrong slot, yet we continue to ask our students to do just that everyday. I really enjoyed your presentation and yes, I have to agree with you - LOVE the Book Creator app. Have a wonderful holiday season and take care. All the best!
